Server address "europe.news.astraweb.com:119" is not valid

Hi,

I just bought a Qnap TS-119 with the latest firmware 3.1.1 Build 0815T, installed (and enabled) python 2.5.2 and then installed (and enabled) SABnzbd+ 0.4.11.
The thing is; I just can't add a server in SABnzbd, I have a valid account at europe.news.astraweb.com (works fine in Newsbin) with port 119.

Host: europe.news.astraweb.com
Port: 119

Then this 'incorrect parameter' shows up..... I tried other news servers with the same result. Can anyone help me out?

Thnx!

Have you tried the "ping" command to see if you can reach the server at all?
Maybe your network setup isn't correct.

The final test is to run telnet:

Code: Select all

telnet europe.news.astraweb.com 119
You should see the signon of the server.

That newsbin works doesn't prove anything, since it works on your PC, not your QNAP.

Where did you run the ping command on? It needs to be on the qnap. That error means sabnzbd cannot reach your host (internet likely isn't working)

Did you get any solution for this?
I've got the same issue with my TS-419P+ and SABnzbd 0.6.5 (clean install on my NEW Qnap ... ).

Everything runs, but I can't connect to reader2.xlned.com eventhough Telnet reader2.xlned.com 119 does connect. (started from the Qnap terminal, off course..... ).

Hope you can help?

Does DNS name resolving work?
Can you ping the server from the QNAP terminal?
