Why is my speed limited?

Hi, over the past couple of days my speed has been limited to 3MB/s. I have a 100mbps fibre connection. what could be causing this and can I fix it? thanks 
Have you done a speedtest for your general connection?
What if you download the test-download in the Status and Interface settings?
How many connections do you have set for your newsserver?
