Stuck at 2.4MBytes/s

I am running SABNZBD 2.3.9 on Windows 10. After a reboot, the throughput is fine (30MBytes/s). The longer my W10 desktop stays up the greater the degradation in speeds.
Any ideas as to why this might be happening?

At that slow time, what does
https://fast.com/ tell you? WARNING: fast.com reports in mega-bit, so divide by 8 to compare to SAB speed (in mega-BYTE)

48.75 MBytes/s
After a slow download today, the ethernet interface went down. No websites would open. Only a sabnzbd force quit or a reboot could solve that problem.

Aha. So that is not a SABnzbd problem, but a problem with your system or netwerk connection.
One last remark: I hope you're using wired ethernet, as that's the best for heavy network loads like SABnzbd.

Yes I am using wired ethernet. Any tips on how do I go about debugging this?
Given that this happens only when sabnzbd is running, its at least related to the cause.

I would say the problem with your setup is in doing big downloads. So from
https://speed.hetzner.de/, download the 10GB file a few times and measure the download speed.
This is a nice method (on Linux / MacOS):
Code: Select all
curl --output /dev/null https://speed.hetzner.de/10GB.bin
I think on Windows /dev/null is called NUL

Hi,
Sorry for my English but i think i have a same issue here.
I use 2.3.9 with Windows 10 1903 x64 . (Motherboard : Maximus IX Code with I-219V Ethernet)
I did different cross test and the problem came from my PC and not my router my cables or others.
The problem seems to appear randomly but always after use SABNZB for download.
Speedtest before download with SAB :
Download Speed : 947,98Mbps / Upload Speed : 318,39Mbps / ping : 13ms
Speedtest after Donwload with SAB :
Download Speed :15,15Mbps / Upload Speed : 320,47Mbps / ping : 14ms
Ethernet card still communicate in 1Gbps but speed transfert (local or network) is very slow.
To fix this problem I am forced to deactivate then reactivate the network card in the windows device manager
Speedtest after fix :
Download Speed : 947,68Mbps / Upload Speed : 320,76Mbps / ping : 12ms
Other topic that I think bound :
24239
24010
Any Idea ?

Hello,
In my case there was a problem from Windows 10 update 1903.
I have downgrade to 1809 update.
The malfunction is solved.
Have a good day.

If this was a Windows 10 1903 issue, a lot of others would have reported it too.
@Sander - I tried the curl option & it showed the same results. Fast speed after a reboot and slow speeds once SABNZBd is left running in the background.
The other symptom I have seen is that I am not able to cleanly restart SABNZBd either. I always get a port binding error when I try to restart it. I can get around this by taskkill'ing the PID for SABNZBd but the throughput problem does not go away with a restart.
