Hi guys,

I have the following issue: Since a couple of weeks when I download a nzb file from my news provider and download it with sabnzbd all I get is garbage files that cannot be extracted. Tried to reinstall the application but did not change anything. I have not changed any setting in sabnzbd. Btw, the download is marked as completed in sabnzbd.

Instead of whatever.rar I get "0c5e21a8492c091ab047e25580e8944d" yEnc (001+261) or "274ea74e25204f70b4f8051340cc1905" yEnc (001+261). I hope you get the idea.

When I try to decompress them manually with Unarchiver I get an error message with the correct file name but an error on decrunching.
Anyone able to help?

My OS is MacOS 10.14, my sabnzbd version is 2.3.9 [03c10dc].

First check: under the Wrench symbol (Schraubenschlüssel?), click on Test Download ... is the result OK?

What you describe can be caused by obfuscated rar files without any par2 files.

thanks for your response. Schraubenschlüssel it is ;-) Did that and the download is OK. Is there anything I can do about those obfuscated rars?

The best & easiest way is to get .NZB files that do contain rar and par2 files.

Don*t think that will work. My news provider is easynews and it seems they mostly have obfuscated files. I appreciate your help, thx.

But how/where do you get your .NZB files? From an indexer, or ... ?

In the meantime: are you able to run a python script ... ?

just select one of the smaller files (usually in the 10s or a couple of 100s KB) and send it to quickpar. that will "unpack" the files into whatever it was originally (usually rar files with the obfuscated name). then you can unrar it normally.
