Not sure what's going on but recently a lot of nzb downloads from DOGnzb are getting errors in sabnzbd that 'Download might fail' or 'aborted cant be completed' and when I force download them it does fail with error not enough blocks available to repair. I will load these same nzbs into Newsbin Pro connected to the same usenet server and it will be able to download them successfully. I've tried installing older versions of sabnzbd and same issue. It happened tonight to both Gotham and Arrow TV shows. Any idea whats going on?

What version of Sabnzbd are you using and what server?

That would ne very strange, since we both use the same way to repair jobs.
It might just be Propagation problem, that your server doesn't have it yet when you download the NZB using Sabnzbd but at the later time when you use Newsbin it made its way to the server. Then it would also work if you try it again at a later time in sabnzbd.


Can you send me the NZB and name of newsservers at safihre@sabnzbd.org?

You may be correct I tried downloading both those nzbs with sabnzbd again this morning and they both completed successfully. It' strange if that's the case though because I tried them again last night after they completed successfully with Newsbin and it still gave the error and failed in sabnzbd.

Is there a way to add a delay in sabnzbd before it attempts to check and download a newly added nzb? Maybe like an hour delay would help things.

Yes, it's in Config Switches: Propagation Delay.
Usually ~30-45min is enough. Depends on the server, some are faster.

Here's one that will not currently complete in sabnzdb but is successful in Newsbin while connected to UNS. Its been up on DOGnzb for a couple hours now

Could you enable Debug logging in the Status window and then download it again and share the log here or at safihre@sabnzbd.org?

Of course it downloads fine now. I will do debug log when I find another one doing it.

ok finally happened tonight with The.Blacklist.S05E05.720p.HDTV.x264-AVS and I was able to get the debug logs.

I first got the error with SAB, then I downloaded successfully in Newsbin which didnt require any par file to be downloaded for repair, then downloaded again in SAB which failed (error repair failed not enough repair blocks) and the last attempt is the debug logs I emailed to you.

I recieved and inspected the log, but it makes 0 sense that you can complete the download on Newsbin and not on SABnzbd.
It is reporting: So the server send us a "430 no such article" status code. It doesn't get any simpler than that.

What could be, is that SABnzbd is connecting to different servers than Newsbin is.
So both SAB and Newsbin you have setup secure.usenetserver.com on port 563?
And you do not have a backup server active in Newsbin? Because I see you have a disabled Tweaknews server in SABnzbd.

From the DNS lookup I see that host can only be 1 of 2 servers (IP addresses):

What could this possibly be.. Maybe we should contact UNS.

Yeah I'm definitely using the same connection settings in both and the secure UNS connection is the only active one in Newsbin as well as SAB. This is just baffling really.

Here are the setting in both Newsbin and SAB for my secure connection to UNS and other secondary connections are disabled in both:

I contacted UNS.
No clue what could possibly be different.

UNS does not want to help us.
