A type of schedule needed

Post by quicksilv3r »

Hey everyone, I'm new to the forum, but have been using sab for a few years now.

Is there an automated scheduler or limiter for sizes or categories based on the time of day?

I have a 400gb/month limit from my ISP with unlimited downloads between 2am-8am - but sometimes I find a tv show or program I want to download during the day and download movies at night. Right now, I have sab setup to be paused during the day and go on all night, but sometimes that also means I have to manually start and stop sab if I want to download something during the day.

So what I'm looking to do is see if there is a way to tell sab that its ok to download files that under 4gb or something all day long, but not download 4gb+ until 2am. Just more of an automation thing instead of opening sab and hitting the red pause button and then hitting the pause button again after something downloads when there bigger files in the que

Sure you can, with some scripting help.

Write a pre-queue script that adds the job with Force priority based on the time of the day when a job is below 4GB.

That does mean that when a jobs gets added at 1:45am, it will be at the top of the queue and finished first since Force priority tops everything.
