SABnzbd fails SSL Verification, but with a twist

Greetings.

I have two instances of SAB running on the same LAN. One is constantly on and the other is 'on demand'. Both are set to connect to "news.usenetserver.com". Both are configured exactly the same. Certificate verification is set to "Minimal" for both.

The problem is one (on demand instance) connects without issue while the other refuses. (ERRNO 10061......)

On the instance that is failing, I can go to the wiki page and enter "news.usenetserver.com" into the test server box and the test completes "PASSED" for SSL, Default, and "Strict".

Why the discrepancy? Both computers are using the same browsers, btw.

Which OS are you using?

The difference will be in the certificate storage on both pc's. Maybe the one on the failing system is outdated.

I've been trying to ferret this out by reviewing similar posts on this forum from January of this year. I noticed that one of the posters was able to fix the problem by updating the certificate list, but how he did it is a bit ambiguous to me as he was running Windows 7. Do you (or anyone) have a link to update or refresh that list?

I'm running WIndows 10 x64 Pro on both machines.

Thanks

FOLLOW-UP:

I've ran an SFC check (sfc /scannow) and no errors were found. I've disabled AV and firewall functions. Neither test helped. Will keep trying.

I also cannot find exactly which update he installed to fix the certificates. Would also have to Google that.
I would have expected regular windows updates to fix it..

10061 is a generic'ish "connection refused" error. Does not necessarily mean certificate issue.

Regarding certs though, you might be looking for the Automatic Root Certificates Update
