Slow Download Speeds

Hi Folks,

I am fairly new to using and setting up Usenet providers/sabnzb/sickrage, etc. I have just about finished setting things up, Sickrage nzb lookup, pushing to Sab and it in turn downloading, etc all seem to be working ok. However, I see fairly low download speeds, till about yesterday it hovered around 1.2mb/s, today its around 700kb/s, with the CPU doing under 10% utilization.

Below are my general setup and configuration details,

Hardware - QNAP NAS TS251+ (Intel Celeron Quad Core 2GHz, 2GB Ram)
ISP Speed - 10MB Download
Usenet Provider - AstraWeb (no download/speed limit, 20 connections). Using SSL.
NAS connected to VPN

SABnzbd Details,
Version - 1.1.1
Tuning Parameters - Max Line Limit - 5MB, Article Cache Limit - 500M

One thing I tried turing off SSL on Astraweb, and paused and restarted SAB, did not see any change.

Any idea how can i improve my download speed?

TIA,
Vik

Try updating to 1.2.0, if you use the package of Clinton Hill that we link on our website, then you should be able to update since this weekend. We updated the master branch!

ISP Speed - 10MB Download
Is that 10 Mbps or 10 MB/s?

ISP normally advertise in Mbps. SABnzbd tells the speed in MB/s. And: 10 Mbps = 1 MB/s

See https://sabnzbd.org/wiki/faq#toc31

Go to https://fast.com/ to find your speed in Mbps. Divide by 9 or 10 to find your MB/s. That is the max SABnzbd can achieve.

Yeah, seems to be a math issue. True, its Mbps to MB conversion that I was missing out on.

Thank's.
