Movie files download but with no file extension

Around the beginning of this month, my movie downloads started downloading with no file extension. I only noticed when I was looking for movies I know had finished downloading, but were not populating in Plex. The movie folder was present, and when I checked inside, there was a file with no extension, but the size was obviously a movie. I manually changed the file type to .avi, and it worked and Plex discovered it. My question, is why is this all of a sudden happening? I haven't found anything on this topic. Nothing's changed on my computer, and I'm looking for some advice on what to possibly look for before doing a roll-back.

How about downloading the NZB again but setting it to just +Repair so Sab doesn't do any of the extracting. This way you can see what is actually in the RAR files.
If the RAR files name the file like this, sabnzbd can't do anything about it, it was just the poster that uploaded the file like this..

A valid point, but I think it's unlikely to be an uploader problem when I have a 100% issue over dozens of movies, all since a particular date.
