"Cannot create directory" error message on Windows USB drive

I keep getting the error message "Cannot create directory E:\Downloads\incomplete" when there is no download activity. E: is an external (detachable) drive connected to a USB hub. SABnzbd never has a problem writing to the drive during an actual download.

What is SABnzbd attempting by accessing this folder when the program is not active? Is there a setting to disable those checks on a detachable drive?

It tries to check disk space.
SABnzbd assumes its temp download folder is always present.

Apparently Windows has a default option that powers off USB devices. That seems to be the cause of the problem. Here's a link for turning off that "feature": http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id- ... #r16703786
