the usual error, cant start downloads...help?

sabnzbd runs perfect on my mac, yet I cant get it to work on my XP desktop...

here's the specs:

XP/SP3
Firefox
giganews
i am pretty sure everything is configured properly

I am getting the

    SABnzbd needs a free tcp/ip port for its internal web server.
    Port 8080 on localhost was tried , but it is not available.
    Some other software uses the port or SABnzbd is already running.

    Please restart SABnzbd with a different port number.

    Press Startkey+R and type the line (example):
        "C:\Program Files\SABnzbd\SABnzbd.exe" --server localhost:8081

    If you get this error message again, please try a different number.


Program did not start!

I cant figure out what I am doing wrong...

ok, i tried that, but i got a "windows cannot locate" error, even though i checked my HD and the path is correct to where SAB is installed...

now, if i go to newzbin, and i copy/paste a url TO a report, I can download that way no problem...

how do i get SAB to use NZB files after they are downloaded?

what i do is i click on an .nzb file, then choose 'open with', and select SAB...no go, i get the port error...

SABnzbd does not support "Open with..." currently.
It will in a later release.
For now you'll just have to save the NZB file to the "Watched Folder".
The alternative is to use a Firefox plugin called nzbstatus.
Or use the poor-man file association as described in http://sabnzbd.wikidot.com/howto-associate

also, I have made my watch folder my downloads folder...is this ok to do?  reason for this is because I have programs installed on a main/master drive, then data like music/photos/videos stored on another drive in case anything happens to main drive...so SAB is installed on C:, but my download folder are on my G; drive and mapped correctly i believe:

G:\Downloads\incomplete
G:\Downloads\complete
G:\Downloads

and what do I need to do to FULLY close SAB so that I can get changes to take effect, such as skins/themes?  I hit save changes, then i close firefox, then restart it, yet nothing has changed...

ok...i found out how to close SAB properly...

I also updated the nzbstatus to 1.0.8  and entered my API key into it and fixed that error...

now, i can see the SAB icon on newzbin pages that replaced the green .nzb icon, but when i click on one, what is supposed to happen next?

nzbstatus should download the NZB file and upload it to SABnzbd.

so whats going on with mine if i have everything necessary installed, but nzbstatus isnt opening nzbs?

You can't open nzb's with nzbdstatus. It picks up any nzb's you download, then uploads them to sabnzbd, then deletes the nzb. Or on newzbin you just click the orange arrow.

Make sure you don't save to the watched folder if you have "Send nzb files to this daemon" on for nzbdstatus, as you will get the nzb added twice.

Is there a complete how-to on setting up nzbstatus somewhere? I looked, but didnt seem to find one anywhere...

I would just love a step-by-step guide or something close to it, anyway...I have only been using SAB on my mac for about 2 weeks and about 2 days on my XP desktop...

the I can see the nzbstatus icon on my V3 newzbin page, and i can download them as well because the icon stays dimmer/grey after i click on it, but nothing happens after that with SAB...just sits there i guess...
