CPU at 100% for never-ending verify

Hi All,

I only see this condition when I download a video pack. Individual file downloadswork perfectly. I see the following:
- Download completes
- Verify starts
- Repair takes place
- Verify happens again and the cpu pegs at 100%
- I kill the par.exe process but this repeats with the next file in the pack.

My setup:
- Version 1.02
- Windows 7
- 8 GB RAM
- 3 cores
- Virtualbox

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Disable: Config->Swicthes->"Enable MultiCore Par2"
A failing multi-core par2 can be an indicator of borderline hardware behaviour.
But sometimes it's just a bad combination of the multi-core par2 program and specific media files.
The older single-core is both more reliable and much slower.

Thank you for the suggestion? How much slower are we talking?

That varies widly.
Your average verify won't be much worse, nor will small repairs.
Substantial repairs will be slower, often by a factor of two or three.
But that's always better then waiting forever.

Okey dokey. I've made the change and will be watching keenly.

Thank you.
