SABnzbd Forums

I use SABnzbd to grab shows on my watchlist, via RSS feed, for me from the DOGnzb website. Ocassionally I will have shows that show on the DOGnzb site as having been downloaded but that are not in on my hard drive and no sign of them in the SABnzbd interface. If I dig into the SABnzbd logs I can find entries like the following:

Should SABnzbd retry to download the nzb file when it has issues like this instead of just giving up? Sometimes I don't notice for a couple days and the show has already been taken down from my newsbin server. I would say it happens maybe 5% of the time. The DOGnzb admins said it is a bug in the SABnzbd software. Thanks!

Can you fetch one of the NZBs manually and try adding it? Does it work then?

Also can you try and add it as an url (from the log) ? See what goes wrong? The fetching or the file?

Yeah I have caught some of these mere minutes after the file failed to download like this and I am able to manually download the file successfully. I'm thinking it has something to do with the more popular nzb's that many have on their watchlist being downloaded by 1000's of users simultaneously when it pops up. The servers maybe can't handle all the requests at once and cause the file to be corrupt or incomplete. If SABnzbd would just retry like every 10 seconds for a couple minutes I bet it would succeed in grabbing the file. Thanks!

Interesting, so you're saying it could be on the server side.. While the server guys say it's sabnzbd's fault.
Can you link me the thread on their forum? I also have an account there.

So adding the url within minutes (not the NZB file) also works? So when basically sabnzbd tries to grab it again himself?

Here's a link to the thread I commented in. It's post number 9 in there: https://dognzb.cr/board/index.php?/topi ... -new-items. It's from a few months ago and I've just been living with it hoping it would clear itself up but no luck with that.

I believe it's possibly something on the server side but not positive. I've only tested by manually downloading the NZB file and clicking it to download with SABnzbd. I'm not sure where to get the URL link from the file on DOGnzb in order to import it that way?

When there is a line/error like this:

Copy the dognzb.cr link and go to Add NZB, paste the link and click Add NZB. It will try to fetch it again through SABnzbd.

Ok I just tried it with Game of thrones which just happened a couple days ago on Sunday and it successfully downloaded the nzb when I pasted the URL in the Add NZB window.
