First off I am on Windows 8.1 and using version 0.7.20, and it had been working fine on this PC for over a year. I use Astrweb.

Anyway, all of a sudden after getting a few nzb's yesterday it won't download. The nzb appears to load in the program but just starts right off hung at "waiting"

Up in the browser tab is says Paused. In fact, Sabnzbd starts up with Paused up in the browser tab, using Chrome.

Did a search before posting but just found a post that talked about being in Paused mode.

But it appears I can un-pause but it can go right in to Paused mode by itself. I can take it out of Paused mode and it might download a bit then go right into paused mode by itself. I got it to sort of go through a download, by un-pausing a few times, but it got to the end of a nzb which said was out of retention, but the age was on 20 days.

I cannot download anything without going into Paused Mode all by itself. To get it to download I have to un-pause over and over till it gets to the end and then all downloads will finish as out of server retention.

Did you enable "check before download" in Config->Switches?
More reasons for automatic pause:
Scheduled pause
Third party tool which sends a pause command
Full disk (or below the threshold you set)
Writing errors (due to a full disk or acces rights issues)

I have now enabled "check before download" to see if that makes a difference as you suggest here.

But since I first posted this things started working as normal again for a couple of nzb's, but I did have the issue with one. But I only grab nzb's that I'm interested in manually and only occasionally, so I just did three small ones to check it out so far.

I'm thinking maybe it is something with Astraweb. Could Astraweb trigger something that would pause Sab?

I don't use a thrid party application right now. I just access nzb's as I feel I need them manually. My disk's have plenty of space and nothing has changed as far as admin rights.

Only when a post has too many missing parts and you have "check before download"
or "abort if completion not possible" on.
