Just installed the 0.8 version of sab, and it's running.. I'm not sure exactly what its looking for in the line-speed section.
I have a 6 mbit dsl connection (yay), but the description is in bytes? ...and the example shows So 6M = .75 MegaByte or 750000 Bytes... I figured it would be in Megabits as most connections thatI I've seen are sold that way, and put 6M in the line-speed field, with 50% utilization -and it maxed out my connection. If I put in .75, I get download speeds of ZERO...
I've tried other things... finally (at least for now) settling on 3M and 50% which yields a 500kB/s speed (which I'm cool with). But would like to know if this is working as it should, or if I'm doing something wrong..

600K is the right value. You can also use 0.6M or 6000000.
The bits/sec is the sensible way for ISP to describe their offer.
Bytes/sec is the sensible way for SABnzbd to describe speed.
These units are about different things, which cannot be fully compared.
There is no exact way to convert, but a factor 10 is usually accurate enough.

so 6Mbit = 750 KB... Which bears out in real-life. My connection downloads at about 750KB/s max.
if I put in .6M @ 50%, sab is downloading at between 650 and 700 KB/s, which shouldn't be. It should be (roughly) half of that, correct?

Looks like I can enter my line speed in KB/sec (i.e. 750K) and it works.
This is confusing. I'd imagine (although, I'm not the person who's gotta do it
) to just standardize on something -- like the line-speed that everyone thinks they have/in the units described (like megabits... ) and let sab do the conversion to units it likes to use..
