I am having a problem adding nzb files from my mac to sabnzbd
I have used another prog on my pc but now I have a Mac and want to use sabnzbd. I have installed sabnzbd 4 times and have not have it work yet. I have used different tutorials but it doesn't work. The last one seemed the easiest.It is at http://totalhtpc.com/ I tried sabnzbd's but I didn't understand it.

I think the sabnzbd is put on right but I'm not sure. I cannot add the nzb file to the program. I have tried dragging it over and using the add file box. Also I tried right clicking the nzb file and hit "open with" and then I hit Sabnzbd ... the program blinked and I saw an error under warning. It said:

2015-10-10 14:22:54,623 ERROR: Failed making (/Users/joe/Downloads/Incomplete/Pixels.2015.720p.BluRay.x264-DRONES)

I am running the newest mac and the newest Sabnzbd program

Please help a newbie because I am lost and I like this site.

The simplest way is to add an NZB from the "Add NZB" dialog in SABnzbd's web interface in your web-browser.
From there you lookup an NZB using the standard OSX file selection dialog.

If you want drag-and-drop, install release 0.8.0Beta1 and select the new "Glitter" skin.

Thanks shypike I appreciate your answer. I found a movie and I opened the box "Add NZB" and I did that ok. The file went to the que. I watched it and after 1 second it disappeared. I then saw a warning and it said

2015-10-11 11:04:56,247 ERROR: Failed making (/Users/joe/Downloads/Incomplete/Hot.Pursuit.2015.COMPLETE.BLURAY-LAZERS)

So I think that I am adding the NZB right but my setup of SabNZBD was wrong. I installed sabnzbd 4 times and have not have it work yet. I have used different tutorials but it doesn't work. I appreciated your help before but I need it again. Is there a print out with very simple instructions

It looks very much like there an access rights issue on your system.
Which OSX version are you using?
Which exact SABnzbd version are you using?

I'm using El Capitan 10.11 which came out last week which I just put on yesterday which is after the trouble started and SABnzbd 0.7.20

Please try 0.8.0Beta1 (or wait until Beta2 comes out this week).
Make sure you have the "El Capitan" version.

Thanks shypike, I was reading more about SABnzbd and I find that the program is so widely used and has lots of input from other users. I'll try Beta 2 when it comes out and if I have problems I'll let you know.

Hi Shypike, I looked around and couldn't find where the 0.8.0 Beta 2 or even Beta 1 are located. It would be great if you would let me know where they are I'd appreciate it. You are a good person for all that you do

Hi everybody,
I just installed 0.8.0 Beta 1 like shypike suggested. I didn't change any settings as they were already filled out like the 7.20 version and when I added an NZB file I got the same error which is below

ERROR 18-10-15 10:32 Failed making (/Users/joe/Downloads/Incomplete/Pixels.2015.720p.BluRay.x264-DRONES)

When I added the file I hit add file and a big + sign came I dragged it into it and I got the above error. When I installed Beta 1 I removed all remnants of7.20. I think

I am on El Capitan on my Mac.

I think it could be that the folders aren't made right. I just made 2 folders (complete and incomplete) in downloads and under folders in setup I added them there.

I am at my wit's end. I just can't do it! It is so frustrating. I don't want to give up.

Hi,
I checked and to see if I downloaded 0.8.0 Beta 1 alright I right clicked the dmg file which is, SABnzbd-0.8.0Beta1-osx-EL_CAPITAN.dmg and hit Get info and it said 0.8.0 Beta 1. I dragged it over to applications to install it and I did. After I installed I checked the file in applications with Get info and it said version 7.20 so I don't know what gives. I had all traces of 0.7.20 removed so I don't know what's happening. Maybe I downloaded it from the wrong location.

You didn't tell OSX to "keep both versions" when you installed 0.8.0?

I found the link but I hoped I piked the right one. I must have downloaded the right one as I right clicked it an dI hit Get info and it said 8.1 vers. I don't know if I kept both versions or not. I do know that every time I install SABnzbd the setup is all done for me. All the choices I wrote down in 7.2 It remembers from the last time.
Do you know how to get rid of all SABnzbd and its remnants?

Hi shypike,
I tried again to d/l 8.1 after deleting every sign of 7.2 and it worked. The prog is ver 8.1. I tried to add an nzb and it didn't work it was just like before. This is the error:

ERROR 20-10-15 19:25 Failed making (/Users/joemiskin/Downloads/Incomplete/Pixels.2015.720p.BluRay.x264-DRONES)

I tried other files to and they didn't work either. I don't know what to do now?
