Hi

I am looking at some nzb in my download list on sabnzbd
and it saids 447 missing articles

does that mean that the download will never be complete or usable etc?

I only have one newsgroup provider

"can a download complete with missing articles" ... it depends how many arctiles are missing and how many par (repair) files are included.

SABnzbd will find out automatically . And you can activate "Abort jobs that cannot be completed" to stop as soon as it's clear repair is not possible.

"447 missing articles" sounds like many missing articles (it depens on the total number of articles, and numer of repair files)

Can you show me how to tell if it is repairable..

If you got some screenshot it would be most helpful.

I also pm you the files I am looking at..

thanks

Just wait until the download appears in "History", and SAB will tell you. If SAB says it's unrepairable, it's unrepairable.

But that means I would have to download it fully and waste my data...

I have a block data plan, so it will be a waste and this download is quite huge...

Did you see "And you can activate "Abort jobs that cannot be completed" to stop as soon as it's clear repair is not possible."?

I seem to have some misunderstanding about your instructions

Let's be clear

you want me to start the download and wait till it goes into history...
But this is where I don't understand, wouldn't it mean that it has downloaded lots of data already?
How else can it go into history section

I am getting really confused..

"lots of" is subjective, but, yes, that is what I mean. So you're correct.

So if e.g. the nzb saids 70gb, how do we know how much it downloaded to become partially completed?

I think this suggestion is really bad, if we got block accounts..

I have found a better solution using NZB Completion Checker

A few years ago I implemented a fast multi-threaded NZB pre-checker (only checking existence, not downloading it), which was made a part of SABnzbd, but was removed later on. I can't remember why. Maybe the pre-checker was not reliable enough in case of articles that had been altered (not deleted) because of DMCA.

Every time I've ever tried to use NZB Complete Checker it seemed like it took longer to run that to just download the file in the first place. But maybe you'll have better luck.

Luck with what? Bandwidth is not a problem for me: FttH and unlimited newsserver. ;)

Me too! ;)

But I think NZBCC's problems are in the program itself. Maybe I was doing something wrong though, I might have to play with it again this week.
