SabNZB Crashes All The Time on New HTPC

Hi Guys,

I've been using Sab forever and it's always very reliable.

I just upgraded to a new HTPC, running Windows 7 (64 bit).

I installed the latest build of Sab.... like usual.. and all seemed normal.

However, it shuts down on its own every single day. (Very annoying...)

Other apps aren't shutting down (Sonar, Plex, etc)... just sabnzb.

Any ideas why this could be happening?

That does not look like a crash, but a graceful shutdown.

"Any ideas why this could be happening?"

- maybe because it's in the scheduler
- maybe because there is a check mark at "shutdown after downloading"
- maybe because SAB is instructed to do so via the API
- maybe because you or someone shut it down via the webGUI

Maybe there is more info in the logging before the point from where you posted

So, it does look like it's shutting down right after downloading something.

I don't see a switch to "shut down after downloading".... where is that?

When you say 'scheduler' are you referring to the Config > Scheduling section because currently there is no schedule defined.

I am definitely not shutting it down via the webGUI.... that I'm certain of.

I am using Sonarr, which connects via the API.... could that be sending a 'shut down' command?

I'm stumped, so any insight is appreciated!

Start by setting your Logging to +Debug

So, a couple hours after I turned on 'debug', Sab crashed on me again....

Here is the log file in case something jumps out at you.

I'm totally stumped.

I've never had any issues with Sab and now on this awesome new computer, it keeps shutting down.... so annoying.

FWIW: It's not a crash. As SABnzbd itself says: it's shutting down. So a shutdown.

I can't find the reason why your SABnzbd shuts down.

Via an API call, you would see:

First off, I want to thank you VERY much for your help.

That is all so weird.

Last night when I went to bed, SAB was running.... this morning when I woke up, it had stopped.
I doubt I sleep walked to the computer and manually shut it down via the web interface, LOL.

I guess I'll try uninstalling and re-installing. Maybe that will help.

This is so frustrating because I just want it to work.... and if it's not crashing, something has to be triggering this, but what?!

Has anyone else in the forum ever run into this that may have other ideas?

I would do this sequentially:

1) set a password on your SABnzbd WebGUI that only you know
2) change API-key in SAB, and not yet in Sonarr etc, so that tools have no access to SABnzbd
And if you still have problems:
3) Stop SABnzbd, find sabnzbd.ini and rename it to sabnzbd-old.ini, start SABnzbd to get wizard, fill it out with basic stuff. No scheduling, no Sonarr etc connecting

I was having the same problem which lead me to this post. My sabnzbd recently started shutting down every day at 3 pm. After the mention of scheduling here, I checked my settings and found an sabnzbd schedule for a daily 3 pm shutdown that I do not remember setting (even accidently). I've now added a username/password and deleted the schedule.
