Downloads don't complete and PAR2 hangs

Hello,

I am running sabnzbd version 0.7.20 on a QNAP TS-651 NAS. I have had the system for about 4 months. This is actually a replacement because the first got lost in the mail on the way home from overseas. But anyways. I had it up and running with no issues for the first month or two. Now quite often some downloads will quit at 90-99% completion.

I have read a few posts about this happening in the past, but never found a solution.
The most common thing that is asked is in config>switches: Maximum retries is at 4 and Only for optional servers is unchecked.

I have 4 different servers.

Is there an option to not check for updates. I feel that the previous version did not have this issue.

Does SABnzbd report missing articles in its download report?

Not sure what report. There is nothing in the log about missing articles. If I click the download I am just told the individual files and how much is missing from each.

If you move the mouse cursor over the job title in the queue, it will show you how many articles are missing so far.
Is one of the servers off-line or otherwise unreliable?

The one I posted the screenshot of said missing 4 articles. The other 2 I have waiting right now just say waiting.

One server is free so it is about useless, but the others work well.

"Dad" servers can have a detrimental effects like this.
Retries and long timeouts for a lot of articles can cause huge delays.
That's why we introduced the "optional" setting for such servers.
When a server causes problems for some time, it gets locked out for 10 minutes
so that downloading can continue.
Try making the "free" server optional or disable it altogether.

BTW: that can still mean that there's some bug in SABnzbd that causes
stalling in some situations.
