Speed tweaks?

Today I got a gigabit connection and I've been trying out how it handles usenet.

So far the internet is great, speedtests show I can get my full speeds. But Usenet has not really been cooperating. Especially SabNZBD has been quite slow.

Right now download speeds are between 30-40MBps, with NZBget I'm getting between 50-60MBps. But I'd rather use SabNZBD so I was wondering what are tweaks I can make to SabNZBD to achieve at least the same speed?
I've tried the suggested tips from here: http://wiki.sabnzbd.org/highspeed-downloading

but it doesnt do anything. Cpu is fine since I'm running it on my pc.

I think you reached the limit of what SABnzbd can do,
mostly due to the underlying programming language Python.
A large cache, like 1G, is the most you can do.
Tuning the amount of connections to the optimum can also help a bit.

Hmm that saddens me to hear that. I just upped the cache to 1G and it did make quite a big difference. Not enough I'm afraid, might try upping it a bit more.

The limit is 1G for now (due to a problem in the yEnc library).
