Seems that Astraweb as of late is always coming up short. So I was thinking about get a block account with another provider hoping to fill in the blocks.

Is this a good idea? And if so, what is the best way to set this up in sabnzbd. Can you setup sabnzbd to initially grab using Astraweb automatically and if it is short to then grab from another account?

First, make sure you're using both the US and EU servers from Astraweb.

Second, if you're still having trouble after turning on both the US and EU servers, then yes, it's a good idea to add an alternate backup. To add a second account as a backup just check the "Backup server" box on the Servers settings page.

Yes using all three SSL's only.
Secure Servers (SSL) on ports 443 or 563.

- ssl-eu.astraweb.com (European servers)
- ssl-us.astraweb.com (U.S. servers)

Been with Astra for maybe 6yrs and it seems a lot of missed blocks as of late. Was thinking of trying a block account with someone else just to see if it helps.

ssl.astraweb.com and ssl-us.astraweb.com are the same, so you can remove one of those.

You need a provider from a different backend than Astraweb. Here's a list of all of them and their backends:

Essentially you need one from either Highwinds, XS News or Giganews. Giganews doesn't have block accounts, so I'd probably skip that one. You can get a relatively cheap block from one of the Highwinds or XS News resellers. I'd get the smallest one possible and see if that helps with your specific missing files, if it does then consider getting a bigger one, otherwise there's no need to spend more money on it.
