Repairs Failing

Hi,

I have a problem whereby some downloads complete (but a repair is needed) and SABNZBD attempts to repair the download however it will fail.

I am able to use the exact same PAR2 program built into SABNZBD to repair the data (via CMD) and I can even use QuickPar. Once repaired if I click retry SABNZBD will verify the download and then continue to process the download.

Not all the downloads will fail and 80% of those that fail I can repair myself. I can only not repair it if there are missing blocks. Can someone walk me through how to troubleshoot this and hopefully resolve the issue?

Thanks,
Henry

Are these NZBs with multiple episodes?

The downloads that have failed are single episodes. I haven't tried a multi episode NZB in a while.

Can you email an example NZB to bugs@sabnzbd.org ?
Please add the URL of this message.

This NZB is full of duplicates, currently SABnzbd cannot handle such NZBs.
It does do systematic renaming of duplicates, but the actual order of
completion of each file can be differ from the order in the NZB,
which messes up the sets.
That is assuming the order in the NZB was right to begin with.

Thanks for your reply.

Since this is becoming more and more common, is there anything I can do settings wise to try and help remedy the problem?

On a side note, why does repairing it manually then clicking on retry in SABNZBD allow the download to process as normal?

Thanks,
Henry

QuickPar is more flexible than par2cmdline that we need to use.
Also, using QP method would make all repairs of multi-set NZBs a lot slower.
Avoid full season NZBs for now.
It's actually the fault of the posters, why the hell do they insist on using the same file names?

One partial solution may be for SABnzbd to use files names as listed in the NZB file
(derived from subject lines) instead of the names that the yEnc records specify.
Unfortunately that method has proven to be very unreliable because posters
also screw up subject lines :(
