Hi Guys and gals, wonder if you can help. My problem is an intermittent connection to my servers (I have used Giganews and Newsdemon for years now). I also use NZBVortex and am having the exact same issue. Sometimes the server connects, on other occassions it does not. Usually, if I leave SAB or NZBVortex open for long enough my downloads start (this can be anywhere from minutes to hours). The Error message I am getting for SAB is:
[Errno 61] Failed to connect: (60, 'timed out') -1@news.giganews.com:563

I have tried all of the following:
- All possible combinations of programs and servers.
- Reinstalling all programs
- Turning off firewall

I am currently running the latest version of OSX Yosemite.

- Are you using the latest stable version of SABnzbd? Downloads page.
- Tell us what system you run SABnzbd on.

Check your connection in Status and Interface settings window.
Use Test Server in Config > Servers.
We will probably ask you to do a test using only basic settings. - Do you experience problems during repair or unpacking?
Enable +Debug logging in the Status and Interface settings window and share the relevant parts of the log here using [ code ] sections.

I've just found out that if I use Vyper VPN then usenet works perfectly. This must mean that BT is blocking Giganews - no?
