I'm an idiot - why use sabnzbd anyway ?

I have an account with newshosting, been using it for over a year now. Guessing most are familiar with it but using their software, you just type in what your searching for and once found, just right click and download the file - no fuss, no muss.
Last few months I have been getting more and more "password protected" files, which always pisses me off due to the wasted time, so I started googling around seeing if there was a way I could try and avoid these if possible. With what I have, it seemed the best thing to try would be to just download one file and check it out, tho that may not always work if it is a nested rar file.
Somewhere along the way I came across a review of newshosting and in the review it said something about sabnzbad was mentioned quite a few times in the comments in the reviews...
so without really checking into it much, I proceeded to download sabnzbad (I'm an easy sell huh - hey, it was open source, my kind of stuff).
So anyway, I d/l it and get it installed and then checking it out, I am not really sure how it can really "help" me or provide anything to me that newshosting already doesn't give me.
I only did a cursory look up, but it seems to me I need to find the nzb file somewhere else, hand that off to sabnzbad , which then hands it off to newshosting ?
Is this a really simple explanation or should I actually spend more time reading thru the wiki on this ?
If I am correct, I can be pretty slow at times, but don't see an advantage to just downloading the file thru newshosting.
Occasionally I may have found the nzb on binsearch, but I can add the nzb to the newshosting "browser" . I can see an advantage if I found my nzb's elsewhere more frequently, but for the most part, I usually find what I need on the newshosting search engine (and actually I can use the binsearch search engine thru the newshosting browser - just discovered that)
anyway - all this rambling just to ask why should I be using sabnzbad
sorry for being an idiot - I'm old and it must be true, hard to teach an old dog new tricks. Ironically I was using newsgroups back before most people even heard of the internet and they didn't have browsers.....then when I started using browsers, fell away from the usenet groups and only started using them again a little over a year ago.
If I were a smarter guy, I would have made a whole lot of money.....buying up names like coke.com etc before they banned it. At the time, as I have zero foresight and is why I will never be rich, this was a good year or so before people were smart enough to buy those domain names. It cost around $50 or so for a name so I could have spent a couple hundred and been living on my own private island right now. Instead, I am too stupid to even know why I should, or should not be, using sabnzbad
