Hi all, I'm totally fresh to Sab, so apologise in advance for the dumbass question

win7,running 0.7 sab...........fixed ip ....ddns in operation ,......ports 8080 & 9090 forwarded on router and I can connect to sab on my phone over the net.
BUT if i then connect via vpn on the sab laptop....I cannot then connect to Sab via my phone over https & the web.
if i run a port check service on the web it shows ports as closed on my vpn ip.
vpn is Private Internet Access, and this ocurs wether or not i setup port forwarding on vpn,
I'm surely misunderstanding something but I'm buggered if i know what.

Any help greatly appreciated,
tia

DOH !!!!!!!

I was trying to run my no-ip ddns update client on the same machine as my vpn client,...........OBVIOUSLY as soon as I connected to my vpn provider the ip address of this machine changed, so the ddns client immediately updated to my "spoof" address rendering the settings forthe software osolete......ddns wouldn't resolve, and the ports forwarded on the router were useless....similarly checking for open ports while connected was actually asking for a check on the spoof address,

I've removed the ddns updater from the machine (to an allways on raspberry pi) & YES i can now connect from inside & outside local lan, without any port forwarding on the vpn,
.......32 hours later ,I can now try and get sab to play nice,am yet to dload a single item :-(
