Slow speeds

I've done a fair amount of searching and tried lots of different things, but cant get SABnzb to download any faster than 2.5MB/s. I do understand that this is 2.5MB/s not 2.5Mbps. I am able to get 7MB/s+ out of torrents. There is NO traffic shaping on the network or throttling. It's sitting behind a Cisco ASA 5505 and which is policed to 50megs then out to level3. CPU usage on the ASA is perfect and I don't see a hair above 5% on Windows task manager for the host CPU.

Specs:
Dual Xeon E5430 @ 2.66Ghz
16GB Memory
Windows Server 2008 R2 64bit
Stored to dual 15k WD Raptor drives in RAID 0
50x50 Dedicated Internet Access (server is in a data center)

What I've tried
  • Randomizing Server IP's
  • Changing connections from 8 to 40
  • Adding multiple providers (mix of giganews and supernews)
  • SSL and no SLL
  • Artlce Cache set to 1024MB
  • Testing speed with the "big random file"
Help me sabnzb, you're my only hope!

Supernews and Giganews both claim "unlimited"

To check whether it's a SABnzbd problem, you can try out a different NZB downloader, on Windows for example Grabit
