Need help with failing downloads

Version: 0.7.18
OS: Windows 7 SP1
Install-type: Windows Installer
Skin (if applicable): Default
Firewall Software: AVG
Are you using IPV6? No
Is the issue reproducible? Yes

SABnzbd has been working fine until the last few days, since when I have been unable to successfully download any rar sets. The nzbs download OK and load up in the queue but then the progress meter races through in a few seconds without actually downloading any content and I get an "out of retention" error message, even if the nzbs are very new. The server connection (astraweb) seems to be good. If it is of any help, I am using Chrome and the SABnzbd extension doesn't seem to be able to find the program - none of the extension buttons work but downloading the nzb manually and opening it, activates the item on the queue.

Very likely the posts have been removed after DMCA takedown requests.
If you want to be sure, you can check one or more NZB files with other software (like Grabit).

Thanks for suggestions. The problem seems to have resolved itself - the only change I am aware of is a Java update, so perhaps that was it. BTW: the Chrome extension issue was me having failed to copy the API key into the extension settings!

SABnzbd does not use Java, so I see no correlation.
