CHECK BEFORE DOWNLOAD option

What does this option do? It seems once I turn it on all SAB wants to do is CHECK files at 1KB/s speeds and just hold things up. If I can download a 2GB file in less than a minute and know weather it is a good file or not, why would I turn on checking, waste the 5 minutes of whatever it is doing, then still need to download it? Is this option just for users with really slow connection speeds?

Thanks. After turning off all that checking this, check that, it just ran better and it never really worked to good anyway. Spend 5 minutes checking "something" when I could download the entire package in 30 seconds. Makes sense for me to just turn them all off.

We no longer recommend the feature.
You're better of using "Abort if job cannot be completed".

How does the Abort option work if one has backup servers configured?

Is there a check on backup servers before the possibility of failure is determined?

The backup servers are used when needed, this is decided per article.
The pre-check works exactly the same as the actual download.
