[Mac Mavericks][Sabnzbd 0.7.16] Always shutting down on boot

HI guys

Have had this issue for a long time but don't download much anymore so haven't bothered trying to sort it out until now

I'm not that technically gifted so please keep any help as simple as possible lol

I can't seem to get sabnzbd to start. When I boot up it always automatically shuts down. When I try and start it using the application it shuts down straight away

Have done a bit of googling and found some solutions so I've tried changing the host on the sabnzbd.ini file to 127.0.0.1 or whatever was suggested but that doesn't seem to work. Have also tried to change it to ::1 as suggested elsewhere but that doesn't work either

What else can I try please? Try and keep it simple as I'm not too good with terminal commands etc!

Check the content of the log file, normally in $HOME/.sabnzbd/logs/sabnzbd.log
It should tell you what's wrong.

Thank you, found the log in another folder than the one you mentioned but it said that sabnzbd couldn't access the port.

Realised the culprit was hands off! so I've deleted all the rules that denied it access and it seems to be working ok now

Could you explain where you found this file, and what you did to remedy the situation? Thank you.

If you have a programme that allows/denies your apps from connecting to the Internet it could be the culprit. Something like a firewall or hands off/little snitch
