NameMapper Issues after win7 migration

Post by GTunney »

I've just upgraded my machine to windows 7 and trying to install sabnzbd from source as this was what i had on my old machine and liked running everything from source.

Everytime i start sab up I get a namemapper error saying it's not C version.

I have tried to use one of the namemappers from http://www.cheetahtemplate.org/download.html but when I do this sab won't even load.

Now i know I had this running on my old machine as i didnt have any errors at start up.

Does anybody have any suggestions on how i can get this up and running with a compiled version of namemapper?

I'm running Win7 PRO 64bit and latest source of sab. Python 2.7.5 and pywin32-py2.7

Any help would be greatly appreciated as this drove me nuts lastnight and in the end i gave up and went to bed.

Just remove any namemapper binary and run SABnzbd without it.
It's not a must and there will be very little performance degradation.

Sorry to sound like a complete idiot but how do I remove them?

Also is yenc needed?

Don't know why but it seems to be taking ages for downloads to appear once couch sends them.

Could this be to do with yenc missing.

It's either in
C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Python\Python27\site-packages\Cheetah
or in
XXX\python27\Lib\site-packages\Cheetah

yEnc isn't strictly needed either, also only for speed reasons.
A modern fast CPU won't miss it that much.
