I uninstalled this program a few months back because I was forever getting error/warning messages and failed downloads.
I thought I'd give i a try after my 8.1 upgrade. Not that I believe that Windows is at fault, btw.

I had to re-do the Setup Wizard page 8 times I still have no clue if that's done correctly and apparently not since it re-loaded itself and opened new tabs 3 times.

I repeatedly get this error message: Failed login for server news-europe.giganews.com:119
My account at giganews is current and valid. I'm aware this is free software so bitching is not the nice3st thing, but honestly: Grabit is free and I've never had problems with it.

Let's add the next error message just for kicks: Authentication missing, please enter username/password from Config->General into your 3rd party program: ::1>Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.3; WOW64; rv:26.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/26.0

Another error: Authentication missing, please enter username/password from Config->General into your 3rd party program: ::1>Python-urllib/2.5

The latter error means that some browser plugin is trying to talk to SABnzbd,
but doesn't use the correct security code.

Giganews/Supernews works very well with SABnzbd, we advertise those providers for a reason.
Your personal experience is not the average experience of SABnzbd users, not even the ones on Windows 8.1
However with 100.000+ users, there will always be be some situations with issues.
