So I went ahead and tried the beta release, but I've one issue:

It's running multiple par.exe(s) , and seems to be stuck verifying a season package ~ 40GB... for the last 9-10 hours.

What should I do ?

Kill the par2 instances.
This will result in a failed job that you can retry.
But first it may be useful to change the option Config->Special->par2_multicore to "Off".
