Port Issue

I am getting this message when i try to open my Sab, I know it used to happen when i opened the app twice now it does it all the time.

I Have reinstalled and removed everything Sab about 3 times now, When i try going to the Next Port it gives me the same message saying i need to go to the next port.

Works fine on my laptop but doesnt on my Tower.

Welcome to SABnzbd.exe 0.4.6

SABnzbd needs a free tcp/ip port for its internal web server.
Port 8080 on localhost was tried , but it is not available.
Some other software uses the port or SABnzbd is already running.

Please restart SABnzbd with a different port number.

Press Startkey+R and type the line (example):
    "I:\Program Files\SABnzbd\SABnzbd.exe" --server localhost:8081

If you get this error message again, please try a different number.

Program did not start!

Either you still have another instance of SABnzbd running. Check with the Task Manager.
Or some other program already uses port 8080.

Well Iv checked the task manager and closed it out. When I Try to reactivate the app nothing happens, I Changed the port to 8081 8082 8085 and 7777.

Possibly there's something fishy with the localhost definition.
Can you try 127.0.0.1:PORT instead?

Iv got it working now, but it is Acting strange. Heres what I did.
Closed sab in Task Manager
Unistalled Sab
Searched for any remaining Sab Files and Deleted those.
Restarted
Ran A fresh install.
Opens the page saying the Port is in use or 2 apps are running. Checked the Task manager and nothing was running.
Changed the Port to 8081.
Opens the App but does not prompt the Browser.
So I Manual put in http://localhost:8081/sabnzbd And all was fine
It no longer Promts the Browser when opening Sab, that seems to be the only thing different now.

Works that all that matters but seems a bit strange that this all happened a couple nights ago and I had not installed anything nor did i mess with my network.

You can get the browser back by setting that option in Config->Switches.
I still suspect that there's some other app on port 8080.

Hi there,

I have the same problem. Is there a way to check which program is using this port?  ???

Check out SysInternals, they probably have some utility.
