My old linksys WRT 610N router died and I upgraded to a new Apple Airport Extreme. . . A couple of days after using the new Airport I updated the firmware to the newest version: 7.7.2 and now SAB+ closes immediately after attempting to open. After reloading the page several times I would find in the error log:

2014-01-02 19:48:43,871 ERROR: [02/Jan/2014:19:48:43] ENGINE Shutting down due to error in start listener: Traceback (most recent call last): File "cherrypy/process/wspbus.pyc", line 184, in start File "cherrypy/process/wspbus.pyc", line 147, in publish File "cherrypy/process/servers.pyc", line 62, in start File "cherrypy/process/servers.pyc", line 97, in wait error: [Errno 13] Permission denied

Also the airport is now saying Double NAT??

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

I'm quite sure this is NOT caused by your router.

See http://forums.sabnzbd.org/viewtopic.php ... 64&p=26986 ... so probably a privileged port (1024 or lower) you want the webserver to run on. I believe SAB on OSX has some safe-mode-start via the SAB-arrow-dropdown ... If you can find that, use that.

Thanks sander for the reply. . . I'm not certain how to open the app in safe mode. I've attempted right-click, Option, Command, and even googled any other ideas with no avail. . . The app will not stay open long enough to alter any of the config files... No I can't even access the web-based portal at all.

The only reason I thought it might have been the router was because it seemed too much of a coincidence for it not to be considering it worked one hour and the next it was gone.

Pity. I don't know OSX, so I can't help you with that.

There is another way: find the file sabnzbd.ini. See http://wiki.sabnzbd.org/faq#toc19 for the location. Please note: in my experience in this forum this file is hard to find for OSX users as the file is hiddden or in a hidden directory. Most OSX users in this forum will first say "No, it's not there / No, I can't find it". Best to open a terminal and then manual 'cd' to the directory.

If you find the file, make sure SAB is NOT running, open the file for editing, find the first occurence of "port =" (NOT https_port =): what does it say? Probably a number below 1024? If so, change it to 8080, and save en exit the file. Then start SABnzbd again.
If you can't find the file, I can't help you any further.

Hey Sander, THANKS for the help!

I was just thinking of a workaround and remembered to find the hidden .ini file in OS X you have to be in Finder

1. Then from the Menu bar select the drop down 'Go'
2. HOLD the 'Option' key and "Library" will appear (ONLY WHILE HOLDING DOWN THE OPTION KEY!)
3. .ini file was exactly where you stated it would be

Thanks again for the help and I hope my oversight will help others in the future!

I know this is an old post, but I was also having this issue and banging my head against the wall trying to fix it. In case anyone else ever has this problem, here is what I did to fix it.

I trashed sabnzb and it's entire Application Support folder (/Users/[username]/Library/Application\ Support/SABnzbd), then reinstalled. It seems there was some configuration issue that was solved by a clean install.

For what it's worth, I didn't previously change any settings, but I was having unrelated internet problems (slow speeds). I called my ISP, where they connected to my home router (a rental of theirs), said there were "incorrect settings" and reset them. I hadn't changed any settings on the router, my computer, or sabnzbd in months; long before this problem started. After my ISP reset my router, internet speeds were back to normal, but sabnzb no longer worked. When I went to relaunch it, it closed immediately. But everything is working fine now.
