Password File not working [QNAP]

Hi, I use SABNZBD on my Qnap 419 II. Version 0.7.16. I try to use the password file feature. But SABnzbd is not using the file. password.txt is stored on nas. Its .txt file. Its linked correct in Folders Settings in SABNZBD. But its not working. Any file without Password will be unpacked fine. Every file with Password will be moved to Download Folder but not unpacked.

Do I forgot something ? I tried also the filename / password.nzb but this will also not work.

So after downloading there are .rar files in your directory Downloads/incomplete/.../?
If so: click on the first .rar (probably ...part1.rar) ... does your unrar program ask for a password? It should. If so: when you fill out the password you know for it, does it work?
If you're a command line person: "unrar x *par1.rar" ... which should ask for a password, which you should fill out ... what's the result?
And:
Set the log level in SABnzbd (Status tab) to +Info (or +Debug), rerun the download. Then: does the sabnzbd.log file show something like:
Code: Select all
2013-11-10 11:59:28,815::INFO::[newsunpack:509] Read the passwords file /home/sander/.sabnzbd/passwords-to-try.txt
2013-11-10 12:09:47,587::INFO::[newsunpack:509] Read the passwords file /home/sander/.sabnzbd/passwords-to-try.txt
In other words: does sabnzbd.log show the text "Read the passwords file" at all?
If you get
Code: Select all
2013-11-10 12:57:35,512::INFO::[newsunpack:511] Failed to read the passwords file /home/sander/.sabnzbd/does-not-exist.txt
you know what to do.

Password is 100000% okay in passwords.txt. If i mark it, copy it and paste in unbar window. All is fine!

Can you login ontu the QNAP NAS and type "unrar"? That should give the unrar version.

Unrar 3.60: that's good (AFAIK).
Back to your password file: what's the format? One password per line?
Does the password contain special characters, ie non-US ASCII characters?

pure txt format. one Password per Line no special characters. just simple letters

Then I'm out of ideas. Certainly because also the method with file / password does not work, and the manual input does work.

hmm the method with manual input in SABNZBD is working fine. All other isn't working. Any others an ideas?

Oh, yes, one other possiblity: maybe the problem is in your unrar version 3.x.
You say you are able to unrar it manually, right? If so, how do you that, I suppose from your PC, so from Linux/OSX/Windows? And there you have another version of unrar?
If so, things to do:
- log in onto your QNAP, go into the directory containing all the rar files, and type "unrar x *part1.rar" (assuming there is one file ...par1.rar"). It will ask the password ... enter it. Does that work? (I hope NOT)
- if you have SABnzbd installed on your Linux/OSX/Windows, does SAB's downloading and unrarring the post there?
- you can PM me the .NZB and the password so that I can check on my Linux system

Passwort is NOT working with terminal session.
Error:
Encrypted file: CRC failed in 15438.rar (password incorrect ?)
No files to extract
If I open Explorer in Windows or Finder in Mac. The Passwort works fine and unpacking is fine. It has nothing to do with nzb or password. It happens with all nzbs. Tried many of them!

OK, so far my hypothesis (#1) is correct. Good.
How about my other two options?

OK:
Based on the password you sent, and my guess for the NZB via binsearch (see my PM to you), downloading in my SABnzbd works (after putting the password in SAB's password file). I use unrar 5.
I also ran unrar 3 (unrar 3.30 to be precise) on the rar file, and that works too after filling in the password you provided.
So I cannot reproduce the problem you have. Maybe uninstalling and then re-installing unrar on your NAS solves your problem?
