performance bad since 0.4.5

Hi

Before I installed 0.4.5 I downloaden with 600-660 kb/s
But since 0.4.it reduced to 200-300 kb/s.
I hoped with installing 0.4.6 it would go normal. But it didn't. It improved somewhat to 300-320 kb/s.

That's it.

Why is this?
I have winXPhome edition SP3 with ZoneAlarm and Avira Antivir.

The only difference is the old faster version I run throug port 8081 and now 8080.
That shouldn't make a difference does it?

I can't think of a reason why downloading would be slower between versions, what was the last version you used before 0.4.5?

Also newservers usually give out more than 1 connection for you to max out your line, try finding out your maximum connections and using that.

if you haven't, you should speedtest other download mechanisms before you assume it's SAB

to be sure, what happens if you revert to the old version?  (but that might lose your queue, so best done with an empty queue)

perhaps your ISP has started traffic shaping news downloads?  you could try setting news to download using port 80?

Before I used 0.3.4 or so.

I've asked my payserver and they allow 4 connections and advised to open some ports directly in my router.
Now I've done so and my speed has gone up to 1200 kb/s.
