Can't open SABnzbd. tcp/ip port problem (python module cheetah required)
Posted: December 31st, 2008, 5:20 pm
I downloaded and installed SABnzbd on my mac (10.5) and everything worked fine until I started fooling around with different host addresses to get it to work with my iphone and now I cannot open it all on my macbook pro. I get the following message:
Welcome to SABnzbd.py 0.4.6
SABnzbd needs a free tcp/ip port for its internal web server.
Port 8080 on xx.xxx.xx.xxx was tried , but it is not available.
Some other software uses the port or SABnzbd is already running.
Please restart SABnzbd with a different port number.
Open a Terminal window and type the line (example):
/Applications/SABnzbd.app/Contents/Resources/SABnzbd.py --server xx.xxx.xx.xxx:8081
If you get this error message again, please try a different number.
Program did not start
I tried to change the port in terminal using the above command line trying 0.0.0.0 or even 8080 but I get the following error no matter what I type in:
Sorry, requires Python module Cheetah 2.0rc7 or higher.
I have Cheetah 2.0.1 on my desktop and have tried to get terminal to install it but to no avail. I am a complete newbie to this stuff when it comes to terminal commands and I've even tried to reinstalll SABnzbd hoping it would start fresh but apparently the directory logs or ports are still being stored somewhere. Anyway, if there is a way to start over again or get that port number changed back to the localhost or whatever so I can at least run it on my computer again I would be very much appreciative. Thanks!
