SABnzbd Forums

Have been using SABnzbd for more than a year,everything working fine.Then I updated my Zone Alarm firewall and it will not start.The error message says that port 9090 is either blocked or being used.I am using the latest edition of SABnzbd.Nothing else has changed.My OS is Win7,SP1.I have set my firewall to allow traffic on TCP port 9090,but to no avail.I would appreciate any helpful advice.

Please complain to ZoneAlarm.
They've goofed before with apps that have an internal web server.

There's nothing we can do.
A firewall is supposed to be 100% transparent to an application.

Worth considering: temporarily de-install & remove Zone-alarm, reboot, install MS Security Essentials (0 Euro) which works with SABnzbd, try it, .... if it works: never go back to Zone-Alarm ... which will save you money.

I like to have a reply from an OP.

Just to say, I've been using Kaspersky with no problems. Hand to change to Zonealarm as my sub ran out. SABnzbd not starting. Stopped Zonealarm, started SABnzbd and it started, original port was 8080. I changed the port in SABnzbd to 8090 and now it seems to work with Zonealarm running. I'm running Win 8.1 x64 machine. Hope this info helps some people.
