WARNING [decoder] CRC Error ...

I've been getting some CRC errors on my last few downloads, and some appear to be of been corrupt, which I've had to repair but downloading the remaining bits for a seperate source. So I'm wondering what's causing these and if they're responsible for any damage.
5 minutes in to a new download I've already gotten a couple (albeit no more last 15 minutes).

These problems are almost always on the server side, especially when other servers have the correct ones.
Often the problems start with the poster.
There's a reason that many posters include upto 10% par2 files.
Any download that has par2 files will be verified and possible repaired.
Unless SABnzbd tells you that it cannot repair the download, there's not much to worry about.

Does your machine have any stability issues such as blue screens of frequent crashes? CRC errors can also be a sign of memory (RAM) problems.

Mmm no new RAM but my HDD has a bad sector (I assume Scandisk marks it as unusable to stop it being written to) - Can hdd cause it, or only RAM?
I know either way I'm up for buying a new HDD, but it'll be a couple months.

HDD is not very likely, because the OS will report a problem.
Every HD sector has a CRC itself, so the OS always knows there is a problem and tells you.
Bad memory will always cause problems (and hard ones to diagnose)
but it would be unlikely that they only affect the CRC of the articles.
You would see more general problems.

The two articles were logged by Easynews as corrupted and the public logs are found on their site.  The articles were damaged by a bug in the software that Hitnews is using and it happened at the time of posting, so no server anywhere has good copies.  This particlar bug was killed by the software developer a year ago but Hitnews is one of very few providers that still haven't upgraded to the bugfix version.  SABnzbd should repair automatically and you shouldn't have to do anything.
