server retention limit

i have multiple newsgroup accounts, some with different retentions.  if i have multiple things in my queue, and it gets "stuck" downloading an old item thats only on a backup server (friends account, etc.), it has to try every article on the primary server first.  If we could set server retentions it would help, and alleviate hammering a server with less retention, along with allowing the primary server to download something else in the queue that is newer.

Server 1: 100 Days
Server 2: 45 Days
Server 3: Unlimited

Thank You

It's been suggested before and it's not a bad idea.
Keep in mind that retention times are not hard limits but just estimates.
I'll add it to the to-do list.

yea, obviously it's up to the person setting it to set it correctly, and then update it if & when the retentions get updated by the provider, which happens what, once a year maybe less?  Just set it a couple days beyond what the newshost claims or something like that, idk.

Thank You!
