cant edit scripts folder

My apologies for asking what is no doubt a basic question and one that has been answered many time before, but I'm finding myself going round and round in circles and have well and truly confused myself!

Ive got sabnzbd and sickbeard both installed on a synology and everything has been running fine for the last 6 months. But had an issue yesterday where I had to delete the sabnzbd package from my synology and reinstall it (FW 0.7.12). Of course this means all the settings were lost and I am really stumped over getting the 'sabtosickbeard' script working again.

I am convinced that when I did earlier in the year I made the changes to the relevant changes to the sickbeard script and then using WINscp copied the new file into the scripts file in sabnzbd and everything worked fine. But now I cant transfer the file over as it says 'permission denied'. So I did some reading about how to change permissions and found something that suggested all I needed to to was SSH in and type: chown -R user:group /volume1/@appstore/sabnzbd/var/scripts (with user and group being changed to the correct terms I use). Only this time I am greeted with 'operation not permitted'.

So that basic question is how do I get the sabto.... script into the correct scripts folder so that I can get back to using it again?
