98% of articles fail

New to the forum, and honestly have a limited knowledge of newsgroups in general. I got it set up a year or two ago and have left it alone. If it isn't broken, why fix it?

Just recently (last 3-5 days) everything I try and grab fails. SAB shows a download speed of 0-1kb. Every single thing Ive grabbed has said "Download failed - Out of your server's retention?".

When I perform a speed test, I routinely get 30-32Mbps. I have a built in utility that displays MBps at the LAN port, and it used to show 2.0-4.1MBps. It currently shows 80-1.1KB, but only when Im pulling down a NZB. If I stream anything, or download a large file not a NAZ it goes rather quickly.

Reading some other threads, I decided to use GrabIt. I attempted to get 3 different Game Of Thrones episodes, a MS language pack, Office, and while typing this up, Muppet Babies season 7 (hey, just random ideas!). A few articles are failing, but overall it seems like it is getting everything.

Is this a DCMA issue? Is HBO thwarting my attempts?

Here is my setup:

Custom built PC
AMD 8120 @3.10ghz
16gb Crucial RAM
Win 7 Ultimate
Supernews - Host
Win Firewall off
using a surfboard motorola with Linksys A3000 (wired)

As a test, download this post: http://binsearch.info/?q=bigrandomfile& ... 00&server=

If it works, your setup is correct, and you can safely assume it's indeed DMCA ...

Yeah...the second I figured out how to bring it in to SAB (GrabIt became the default) I saw the download spike to 2.2MB. Ugh! Guess I will need to figure out DCMA a little more thoroughly.

Thanks sander!

There's not much to figure out.
The trick is to enable this option: Config->Switches->Abort jobs that cannot be completed
You'll get your feedback much faster.
