How to handle documentary downloads

I'm a big documentary downloader, and I'm finding that I have tons of downloads that end up in these long, somewhat cryptic folders....that DON'T import into XBMC's index. Am I doing something wrong- or are documentaries just not indexed like TV shows and movies- meaning I will NEVER be able to import them into my media center's index.
