Bloody Password Files

just looked at my sab queue and this is what i got overnight (i use a sickbeard alternative called nzbdrone to grab my shows)

http://i.imgur.com/OVjjslG.jpg

it appears some smart-ass's are posting fake files for upcoming episodes that have not aired yet nzbdrone has detected them not realizing that today is not the day they are supposed to be due out and grabbed them as normal

at first i thought it was mostly public indexers like nzbclub or nzbx.co or nzbindex that were having these but checking the history page these are coming from private indexers that i have accounts with so these sites are obviously not having a file integrity check on them

it is getting ridiculous it is chewing through data like crazy now i have the password detection feature on in sabnzbd but it cannot check for passworded files unto rar's are present which makes it essentially useless as the episodes are downloaded before the check even occurs

I searched the NZB for your top post (psych...), put it into SAB, it started downloading and then after 122 MBs (of the 460 MB) stopped saying "WARNING:: Paused job "PSYCH..." because of encrypted RAR file" and "ENCRYPTED"

So: my SAB (version 0.7.11) does detect it's encrypted and stops downloading

why is yours working and not mine then i have the same version i have tried setting to both paused and abort and it still waits until the whole episode is downloaded before it detects it

here is a screenshot of my switches page do you see anything wrong on here

binsearch.info. And even binsearch says it's passworded.

ok there must be something wrong with my sabnzbd install then because i just downloaded Psych.S07E14.HDTV.x264-2HB from binsearch it clearly says Password Protected and yet sabnzbd still did not detect anything and it downloaded the entire episode then gave me the Passworded error

you could stop SABnzbd, move sabnzbd.ini to some other file, and then start SAB, which should give the wizard. Then download again and see what happens.

EDIT:

Easier:
Stop SABnzbd, start sabnzbd with "-f mytestini.ini", fill out the wizard, and try again

thanks for those tips i will use in the future but to be sure i just completely deleted everything an downloaded a fresh copy from the website and re-configure it i did a couple of tests and now it seems to be working not sure why i wasn't before but it has paused two different show episodes i started from binsearch it paused them after about 64mb

so i will see how it goes over the next couple of days when the shows are released as annoying as having passworded files is i was more annoyed at the wasted data as i use block accounts

i think the passworded files option is working ok but it appears new tactics done by these spammers include rars within rars and i am not sure sabnzbd has that ability to scan like that i think it is called deep packet scanning
