Can the post processing of the downloaded bits initiate a monster of any sort.

You mean, run virus-infected executable content?
No, because SABnzbd only ever runs its own par2 and unrar tools and never ever "runs" downloaded content.
Theoretically MP3 and MKV files may contain bad data that may affect specific media-players,
but that is very unlikely.
