Hey everyone!

I've installed SABnzbd on my Synology diskstation (not through the packet manager). Everything seems to be starting as is should except that there is some missing modules. But when I try to access the site it won't display. Ive tried to change the port in the config but with the same error. This is the startup code:

Code: Select all

Two things stand out:
The package is not based on an official release, so I have no idea which version it is.
The webserver runs only on 127.0.0.1:7000. This means that external systems, like your PC cannot reach it.
The setup is wrong.
Try to find the sabnzbd.ini file (I don't know where this package stores it) and change the host address to 0.0.0.0

Hey,

I changed the hostname in the ini file to the IP of the synology and it worked ^^

I just wonder how important these modules are. is OpenSSL just for the SSL access to the website or is it SSL when downloading?

yenc module... NOT found!
nice binary... NOT found!
ionice binary... NOT found!
pyOpenSSL... NOT found - try apt-get install python-pyopenssl (SSL is optional)

Thanks for your help!

SSL is needed for Usenet SSL downloading.
nice and ionice are tools to reduce system load, but I think you'll need all the CPU power you have.
yEnc will speed up decoding of articles.

Did you do a DIY installation of SABnzbd or did you use a package?

Well if I don't remember wrong (been reinstalling my synology so alot of installations) I got sab from git. I wan't to avoid using package managern because i want to install in a certain folder and Synology Package manager can't do that.

Since I did not get Truecrypt to work I created a file share which I encrypted and then I want to put Sab, sickbeard and couchpotato in those folders. I got everything working except SAB.

I tried to install the modules on my own but I'm missing alot of packages. When I use Packet Manager SAB works as it should.

I tried to move the installation folder to the encrypted folder but there were too many dependencies that I also needed to move. Was looking into creating soft links but haven't had time to try it.

Getting a package is a good first step, because it installs required software,
like some extensions to Python.
After that you can still choose to use the GIT version.
You could also use our official tar.gz releases, so that when you have a complaint
or question, we know what you're using.
An unpacked tar.gz can run from any desired location.
You should run tools/make_mo.py (included) first, if you need other languages than English.

Hi,

I tried to find a package but the only I find is the one through Synology Package manager which installs Sab and I get full functionality but it runs from a different location than the one I'm trying to use. If I install that package and still use the git version I still get the missing modules.

I tried to follow the "Other Installation" guide and install the missing modules seperately but I'm missing additional modulues to install that and when I'm trying to install those I'm missing additional modules. My experience and knowledge with Linux is very limiting but this is ridiculous. The package you're talking about can you please help me locate it?

IPKG is the only package manager I can use through CLI and it doesnt have all the applications that I need. Is there a package thas has the following modules already?

yenc module
nice binary
ionice binary
pyOpenSSL

I've also looked through the Ubuntu installation and getting a package that works like apt get would be awesome and use my encrypted folder as the installation directory.

Thanks for your help.
