Whenever I try to start sabnzbd I get an notification center notification "Shutting Down" after a couple of seconds of it trying to open. I am on OS X 10.8.2 on a brand new Mac Mini. I went into terminal to determine if something was occupying port 8080 and there were a few Plex services running on the port which is odd because I have Plex configured on a completely different port. I terminated Plex and tried to start SABnzbd again and it still didn't work. I restarted and took Plex off my auto-login items at start up and sabnzbd would still not start even though nothing was occupying port8080. I ran logs in Console and it said Sabnzbd was having some type of error with its listener. The error log in the Sabnzbd folder was inconclusive - I can post them here if you want.
The oddest thing is that a routine to get Sabnzbd to work is starting plex and fully going into the Plex Media manager, x'ing out of it, and fully closing it. The Sabnzbd has about a 30% chance of opening ok it seems. Once sabnzbd starts running ok, it lets me start Plex and they can side by side. Weirdest thing. I have tried things like delayedlauncher to start plex after sabnzbd starts up upon boot but Sabnzbd still shuts down automatically.
Please help! I would really like to get this running smoothly.

Re: SABnzbd keeps shutting down immediately on Mac
I don't know the answer to this puzzle either, but SABnzbd does get the message from OSX
that the ports it want to use are occupied.
SABnzbd tries to claim multiple ports: 127.0.0.1:8080 [::1]:8080 (IPv6) and possibly IP:8080.
(Where "IP" is the local IP address if your system).
You can force this to only 127.0.0.1, if you use that as a host name in Config->General.
If you enable HTTPS, it will use extra ports.

... and/or try a different port than 8080. A very unusual port like 11222 would be a nice try.
