Enabling SSL causes Sab to crash

Post by speedemonv12 »

Hey guys. I cannot remember when this started to happen but its been driving me crazy. I am running Openelec with all the latest updates.

I noticed that Sab had crashed. So I restarted the computer and it came up fine but then crashed again whenever it tried to download something. What I found, is that whenever Sab tries to connect to my servers using SSL, it crashes immediately. I can establish a connection and test the server without using SSL, but as soon as I tick the SSL box, Sab crashed. I have no idea what I may be able to do to fix this. Any ideas?

Thanks!

Most likely a problem with the OpenSSH library installed on OpenElec.
I think you should file a complaint at OpenElec's website.

I would start SABnzbd from the command line (so: in a termanical, not as a service), maybe set log level to debugging, and then run again, and then test the SSL connection. When/if it crashed, check out what the terminal with sabnzbd says and post it here.

Thank you for the quick responses. Sorry for the noob response, which command do I run to start Sab from command line as well as setting the log level to debugging?

Ah, OK. Can I assume Openelec is just a black box / appliance to you? If so, I now agree with Shypike: better to report it to the Openelec maintainers.

Yes, Openelec runs as its own linux XBMC install and has SABnzbd as a plugin. I can access the server through SSH and run SAB via "python SABnzbd.py" But I get an error "The Python module Cheetah is required"

If this is not something you guys are familiar with, I will head over to the Openelec forums and try to solve my problem there. Thanks for trying to help though!

Well, Cheetah is a Python module required by SABnzbd and SickBeard.
It should be installed.
