I'm running the latest version of sabnzbd and it often gets stuck in the post processing; This typically happens (of course) when I download many files, and one of the jobs gets stuck, and the remaining jobs just sit there.

Restart won't work.

I looked in activity monitor for par or unrar but can't find the task to kill the unpacking

Nothing abnormal in the logs. I'd say this happens in 1/100 files or so.

So my questions are:
1- What can be done to elegantly stop the unpacking and resume the queue
2- Are there any more "stable" settings

From your description I cannot tell whether SABnzbd or SickBeard hangs.

sorry, it's Sabnzbd- was wondering what the most elegant way of killing the unpacking process, and if there are any "magic" settings to avoid it from happening.

The unrar program runs on its own and it's a commercial (but free of charge) program that we just include.
SABnzbd has no influence on it.
It can be bugs in unrar, bad archives or memory issues. Hard to tell those apart.

so any tips on how to kill it on the mac?

I can't finding anything in activity monitor.

If you cannot find unrar, it isn't running.
Isn't it stuck on par2 instead?
As a last resort kill SABnzbd with the Activity monitor, but make sure downloading is paused first.
