Can jobs hanging in Stage PAR or Extract be killed

Post by rvank »

Hi all,

Is there a way to kill jobs in stage PAR or stage Extracting.
I have now a job 'trying to fetch xx more blocks' of a download what prob. will be unrepairable.

I'm using:
Version: 0.4.4
OS: Vista
Install-type: Windows Installer
Skin: Default
Firewall Software: Vista internal
Are you using IPV6? No

Kind regards
Rob.

This is something that has been popping up pretty recently when people find a history item blocking others from being processed. Of course the reason for the blockage should be investigated but the item should also be allowed to be deleted. We removed this ability in some version of 0.4 because people were deleting jobs by mistake.

I created a ticket a few weeks ago suggesting that it should be re-allowed and handle a ok/cancel dialog on the skin side. See here for progress: http://trac2.assembla.com/SABnzbd/ticket/165

We did not really remove this possibility.
The earlier releases had some unpleasant side effects when active jobs were deleted.
In the sense that they were not truly deleted and could still block the post-processing queue.
These side effects will have to be removed before this issue can be really fixed.

The fix will not make it into 0.4.5, we're too far in release process now to stop that
(and too many important updates are in 0.4.5 to delay it longer).
Prime candidate for 0.4.6.
